WINNER GALORE AT THE END OF SEASON CAT 3 SPECTACULAR!

Weston Lawns Equestrian Centre hosted their annual end of season show jumping spectacular this past weekend Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th of September 2022.

The event featured some of the best horses and riders in the area competing in a range of classes and with a massive winners pot and an official upgrade to Cat 3 status it was very well attended.

The Weston Lawns End of Season show jumping spectacular is always a fantastic event, and this year was no exception. With impressive performances from all of the competitors, it proved to be a real highlight of the season for everyone involved.

Among the standout performers in the Dodson & Horrell 6 Bar competition, which was won by Sebastian Hughes riding Colorado Volo and Thomas Dovkants riding Headleys Daydream. Both riders cleared a height of 1.80m to take home shares of the top prize!

Kindly supported by Aartom Horses, the Accumulator was won by Faye Adams on Demograaf. It was a fantastic performance by both horse and rider, and they were richly deserved winners.

The Accumulator is a competition that tests a horse and rider's ability to accumulate points over a series of Jumping rounds, and it is open to all riders aged 18 and over. This year's competition was extremely competitive, with many riders in with a chance of winning right up until the final round. However, it was Faye and Demograaf who prevailed in the end, much to the delight of their supporters.

Faye and Demograaf

We would like to congratulate Faye and Demograaf on their win, and we hope to see them back next year to defend their title.

The end of season 1.30m final was won by Beth Vernon on The Movie Star. Other winners at this prestigious event included Joseph Trunkfield, who rode Greenacres Vanquish to victory in the 1.40m Grand Prix sponsored by Sulby Stud. Joseph's winning performance was all the more impressive as he only started riding Greenacres Vanquish a year ago.

This was a fantastic end to the season for Beth and Joseph, and we look forward to seeing their continued success in the future.

Weston Lawns was excited to welcome Thomas Dovkants and Cornet’s Skippy to the Walnut Hill Veterinary Clinic Newcomers Final! Cornet’s Skippy is a beautiful horse with a lot of potential and Thomas made sure his horse's reputation was cemented even further with such an impressive jumping display taking first prize!

And finally, the End of Season Foxhunter Final was won by Jasmine Gutsell riding Killupaun Contador. It was a close-run thing, with Jasmine just pipping her nearest rival to the post by a fraction of a second. There was a huge cheer from the crowd as she crossed the finish line, and Jasmine was clearly delighted with her victory. Jasmine is a worthy winner. We're sure she'll be back next year to defend her title!
